A native of LaGrange, Georgia, and a graduate of Emory University, my first work was teaching High School English in Troup and DeKalb Counties. After our four sons were in high school and college, I returned to Emory for a Master of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology. Following ordination I served United Methodist Churches in North and South Georgia.
Applied art came in later years for me. While living in Macon, I studied with Maryanne Dunn. My intense study began with Cora Waterhouse at the LaGrange Art Museum in her courses in drawing, pastels and oil painting. Recently I have studied with Jim Richards in his Atlanta Studio.
My work reflects a deep interest in the beauty of the land and ordinary scenes passed every day.
