Dawn is a native Georgian with roots originally from Columbus, west central Georgia. She is the daughter of an artist, Jean Park of Columbus, and has had the fortunate life of living in an environment filled with crafts, color and creativity. Her business life includes banking, real estate, interior design and now art…again. Art has always been at the core of her being. It has been only in the past several years she has opened her eyes and ears and has allowed the creative energy to flow through to the canvas. For more structure she studied interior design and obtained her degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from American InterContinental University, Atlanta, Georgia 2003. Since then she has pursued art workshops around the southeast with Perry Austin of Alabama, Bill Davidson of Atlanta, Joanne Williams Walker of Florida, Nancy Franke of Atlanta, Guido Frick of Germany, Jim Richards of Atlanta and an upcoming workshop with Carolyn Anderson in Maryland. Dawn is working towards mastering impressionism with a loose interpretation of subjects that interest her personally like animals, people, flowers and all things nature. She paints at her studio in downtown LaGrange at Artists in Residence.
